Enthralling and beautifully written, starting off in China in 1882, we then follow the main character on a harrowing journey to the US, there is a lot to learn from this book I highly recommend giving it a go.

I've read every book by Matt Haig and this one is my favorite out of many excellent options by this author. Physical copy of the book is also available at the library.
From the suthor of Beautiful Ruins, this book is incredibly interesting not just for the setting and time (Spokane 1909), also a male author who can write women characters just as in depth as the male characters
