No matter how brief your visit to country where even a remote possibility exists for encountering an aggressive Ursus, you need to remember a concept that has been weaned from your instinctual cognitions long ago, and our Human arrogance would rather it remain forgotten. While you're in such wilds.....YOU ARE NO LONGER THE APEX SPECIES. You are ..IN.. the food chain now, not that top-rung meat-hook the rest of it hangs from. The manner in which you're likely to react to a confrontation with a Bear..... is exactly what will convince it to do what until that moment, it may have been indecisive about. Taking you out. If you do not take that seriously enough to inform yourself, not only what the correct way to react is, but more importantly, how to ACT in the first place....then perhaps you'll understand how serious this is: The information in this book saved my life. ------------------------------ Just..an FYI. The North American Brown Bear subspecies of Grizzly Bear was first classified in 1815 by Lewis & Clark's naturalist George Ord. Just..some perspective: He named them Ursus arctos......."HORRIBIL"-(IS)........for a reason! Just sayin'.
