When a new girl joins her class, Allie is excited. Not only does this mean that she will no longer be the newest student in the class, but Cheyenne hails from Canada. But it becomes very quickly that this new addition is more good news then bad. First Mrs. Hunter movies Allie to the back to sit with the boys. Then, Cheyenne rebuffs the Queens overtures of friendship. The worst of it all is when Cheyenne slowly, but surely takes over the grade four class with her kissing games and going with boys plans. Can Allie keep out of Cheyenne's cruel games without becoming an outcast? Once again, Meg Cabot has produced a good book for the junior grade girl. This one focuses on the message of not growing up too fast and what friendship really means. Voices of the characters, both child and adult, ring true. Fun to read.
