This book is a combination of one-page comics originally published on Wertz's Fart Party website and several short stories, all drawn together under the theme of her cross-country move and first year living in New York. I wouldn't call her "the voice of a generation" or anything (ahem, official book description), and I don't think she would claim that either. She is pretty funny, hilarious at times (I LOL'd) and she's learning to craft a mean story. By learning, I mean that she opens the book by framing a story that she never actually tells (how she gave up drinking), although she does hint around it a few times. I look at this as a prelude to her upcoming work, which promises to be fantastic. Read this book now, before she blows up, for bragging rights to your indie comics friends in years to come.
