The previous book in the series, ended with all four Pevensies’ returning home from Narnia after helping Caspian. This time, it was Peter and Susan’s last time ever coming back to Narnia, but Lucy and Edmund were to come back one more time. And that happens very soon. While the two are staying with their dreadful cousin Eustace, they are brought back to Narnia, this time on a ship. Caspian, the new king of Narnia, is brought back as a main character. He and the two Pevenies’, along with Eustace who is more unbearable than ever, are taken on an adventure. Specifically, on a ship called the Dawn Treader. Together, they navigate the waters to find seven kings who Caspian’s Uncle Miraz had sent away. They encounter many problems, but C.S. Lewis does a great job of showing optimism through those times. The book ends with Aslan, the great Lion, sending Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace back to our world. Unfortunately, that was Lucy and Edmund’s last time in Narnia, but not quite for Eustace. Reepicheep, a loyal mouse, also gets taken to Aslan’s country, which is a symbol of heaven. Rating: 5/5 - @thesoundofcolours of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
