This is a lighthearted story about Babar's family encountering a ghost. It's a good story if you are looking to alleviate your child's concerns around ghosts as there is a ghost but a funny and friendly one in the book which makes the kids giggle.

Once again, Laurent de Brunhoff tries unsuccessfully to best or else profit off his gifted father, Jean, creator of the timeless Barbar the Elephant children's series. The son's work is inferior to the father's in every respect, including illustrations, text, charm, and imagination. Our 7-year-old could quite easily discern the difference in quality without any adult coaching. Stick to Jean's original 7 books and leave Laurent's on the shelf.
