No Fear Shakespeare Graphic Novels is a series based on the translated texts of the plays found inNo Fear Shakespeare. The original No Fear series made Shakespeare’s plays much easier to read, but these dynamic visual adaptations are impossible to put down. Each of the titles is illustrated in its own unique style, but all are distinctively offbeat, slightly funky, and appealing to teen readers. Each book will feature:
  • Illustrated cast of characters
  • A helpful plot summary
  • Line-by-line translations of the original play
  • Illustrations that show the reader exactly what’s happening in each scenemaking the plot and characters even clearer than in the originalNo Fear Shakespeare books

This adaptation was great! It was a nice review after reading the actual play many years ago in high school. I read this for a student and we discovered that the text is not exactly the same and has been 'dumbed' down for ease of understanding.

Hamlet learns that his Uncle has murdered his father and subsequently married his mother and become the new King of Denmark. Hamlet pretends to go insane and everything is down hill from there. This is a true Shakespearean tragedy where not many of the original characters end up alive at the end.
