Sometimes bypassing that ancient, decrepit enclave up the road, little more than a cluster of moldering hovels, is not an option ... not when on a case for the local police department. This fourth book in Stephen Booth's excellent series offers a detour into the realm of the creepy. Ought to make readers take stock of their own neighborhood. A classic read for a darkened room on a windswept night.

Wonderful, dark series of British mysteries.
