Very disappointing because I love the character Doc Ford. The story took forever to get moving, ultimately to a very disappointing conclusion. The Publishers Weekly review is spot-on. I like truly evil villains. In this case the bad guy was more pathetic than violently malicious. Perhaps the author needed the paycheck. Perhaps the books that follow are not burdened by such a pathetic end. I certainly hope so.
