The 2nd book in the Alvin Maker series explores the native American perspective in Orson Scott Card's alternative history of the USA. This series combines folklore, mysticism, tall talls, and a lot of imagination. In this second book It gets a bit grim, folks, but it's very... realistic in it's fantastical retelling of the bloody conflicts between the Europeans and the Native Americans. Compelling, good characterization, interesting situations, and basically excellent SF.
