In Ruth Rendell's dark and contemporary universe, dreams can turn to the terrible nightmares. Teddy Brex emerges from a loveless, isolated childhood as a handsome but autistic young man. Francine Hill, traumatized by the murder of her mother, grows into a beautiful young woman who must endure the over-protectiveness of an obsessive stepmother.

I borrowed this in large print from another library. To me it was an
excellent and easy read that I would
especially recommend to anyone (like me) who is becoming challenged in their enjoyment of reading due to memory problems.
