This is the best version of The Nutcracker. Macaulay Culkin is great as the prince. The Rudolf Nureyev version of The Nutcracker is also good.

This ballet's attractions include excellent mouse costumes, a strong corps of well trained child dancers with prominent roles, and a technically superb Darci Kistler as the Sugarplum Fairy. Its down side includes special effects such as a flying bed that look clunky and archaic by today's sophisticated special-effects standards. Watch for a relatively uncorrupted Macaulay Culkin as the Nutcracker.

Its down side includes special effects such as a revolving, flying bed that look clunky and archaic by today's sophisticated special-effects standards. Watch for a still relatively uncorrupted Macaulay Culkin as the Nutcracker.

Amazing, breathtaking sets, gorgeously filmed. The best Nutcracker I've ever seen.
