This book is organized by twelve themes (one for each month of the year) with 10 books reviewed per theme. The author suggests that the reader select one book from the theme of the month. The objective is to read 12 or more books across these themes over a year. Each two page synopsis and commentary ends with a suggestion for further reading. It offers a good blend of 'classic' books as well as 'hidden gems'. The book has an index. The author suggests other strategies for picking from her 120 recommended books; and ways to find other good reads.
