Follows the Lord of Dreams through nine tales as he touches lives from the mists of the past to the nightmares of the present, kings and spies, emperors and actors, ravens and werewolves.
APL Ruiz's resident authority on comics has called Watchmen "the Citizen Kane of graphic novels" and I agree it's a staggering achievement, but I now think The Sandman reaches farther and deeper.
Fables and Reflections is a wonderful addition to the Sandman series and it is beguiling to see the craft and imagination that Neil Gaiman and his crew has put into each volume of this series.
Volume six of the collected Sandman series is an excellent showcase of Neil Gaiman's writing talent. There are seven stories here that deliver an exotic range of mythologies and cultures. Ancient Rome, revolutionary France, fundamentalist Islam and more. Gaiman is a highly talented writer. I found this volume a good example of why this series is worth anyone's time. Highly recommended for mature readers.

If you haven't read Sandman and you like graphic novels, fantasy, goth, horror, or just love great story telling... you're missing out. Read it!

Add a CommentThe 6th volume of the Sandman series is another collection of somewhat slightly related stories, which is fine and all - but not really my favorite.
However, I am so happy to finally see the prodigal brother for the first time!
He's super cool.
