Pretty Little Liars meets The Breakfast Club” (EW.com) in this “flat-out addictive” (RT Book Reviews) story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive.

Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?

Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

Fun and fast to read! Great reading for a weekend trip. A little melodramatic in parts, but that's to be expected in YA novels. Also available as an ebook or audiobook.

I came across this title when I was on Amazon looking at another book, but it looked interesting so I got in line at my library for it. I didn't know anything about it, so when I read the description in the cover jacket I chuckled to myself and thought it sounded a bit like a mash-up between The Breakfast Club and Pretty Little Liars. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the young adult genre definitely seems to be my jam and this book was no different. It kept me entertained (and guessing) the entire time. I liked how the book was written - in the first person from the four main characters' point of view. I'll be honest, maybe it's because of all the Law & Order episodes I've watched over my years, I actually had figured out the mystery before it was spelled out at the end, but I still really enjoyed it. I would give it an 8 out of 10.

I really wanted to love this one. It has everything: a mystery, four different characters, deception, unreliable narrators, and coming-of-age in the worst way possible. I was very excited for it, but because of the title and a few key lines that I picked up on while reading, I figured out the ending way before it happened. From that point, I was simply reading the characters realize what I had figured out a long time ago. I wish it had been slightly less obvious, because I think it would have liked it better.

I was actually surprised how emotional this book made me. It’s got a lot going on, it isn’t just a thriller mystery.

A fantastic young adult novel. A murder/mystery with a twist. Four suspects, secrets galore, fractured relationships and unlikely friendships. A great read.

This book was so amazing! I picked it up and completed it that same day. Its a young adult mystery book, but I like to think of it as a mix between Pretty Little Liars and The Breakfast Club. Their are so many twists, turns, secrets, and surprises! It literally never has a dull moment. I would read again, and again after that. Totally recommend!!
