Written by David Lavender - "Snowbound" takes a close-up look at the well-documented journey of the 87-member "Donner Party" who (on their way from Missouri to California in 1846) found themselves hopelessly trapped in the Sierra Nevada mountain range during a winter of heavy snowfall.

It's here, of course, where the nightmares of survival began with a number of members being forced to make the unthinkable choice of either committing the act of cannibalism, or else die of starvation.

This chilling, real-life account of the "Donner Party" ordeal also includes numerous b&w photos.
