"...Part artist's book, part cookbook, and part children's book, Mud Book is a spirited, if not satirical, take on almost every child's first attempt at cooking and making. Through the humble mud pieadd dirt and water! Cage and Long encourage children to explore their imagination and to get their hands dirty, and they offer this warning: "Mud pies are to make and look at, not to eat." "

What a delight! This is one of those books you want to own, but is it for the grandchild or the child in everyone? It is simply a clever instruction book on making mud pies & cakes in a 5 inch by 5 inch book to fit small hands. The illustrations are perfect for the topic. Favorite page: The birthday cake. It makes you want to grab the closest child, water, dirt and dandelions, for an excuse to make one to complete your own childhood experiences.

Start your summer off right! This charming "how-to" book will inspire children to experiment with creating mud pies and will encourage adults to revisit the joys of literally being one with the earth!
