Muhammad Ali Trains for His Fight With Joe Frazier Ca. 1971Unknown - 1971
In 1967, heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali was stripped of his title after claiming conscientious objection to the Vietnam War and failing to report to his draft board. Joe Frazier was awarded the title in his place. In 1971, in one of the most publicized sports events in American history, Ali and Frazier met for a rematch at Madison Square Garden in New York. Although Ali lost the match, he later reclaimed his heavyweight title from George Foreman.
