Alan Keyes Discusses Family Values Ca. 1987Unknown - 1995
The first African American to run for president as a Republican, Alan Keyes campaigned on a staunchly conservative, pro-family values platform. During his 1996 campaign, Keyes blamed the liberal Clinton administration for the breakdown of morality and family life. Despite support from the Christian Coalition, Keyes lost the nomination to the more moderate Senator Bob Dole.
