Along with her husband Pierre, Marie Curie conducted groundbreaking research into X-rays and radioactivity. For her work, Curie became the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize for physics. She also won the Nobel Prize in chemistry and was the first woman to teach at the Sorbonne.
