A contemporary take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle stories set in present-day London. The iconic details from Conan Doyle's original books remain: they live at the same address, have the same names, and, somewhere out there, Moriarty is waiting for them. This is, to me, the best show on television at season 1. Absolutely brilliant. You see Sherlock's madness/addiction, but it is not the centerpiece of the show, the mysteries are. You see Watson's friendship grounding Sherlock, and while their partnership is at the heart of the show, the stories and mysteries are so well done, it is just a fantastic ride.

This is my favourite TV series on Sherlock Holmes ever! Great acting, twists & turns in plots, tasteful updating for a 21st Century Sherlock & Watson. Thank you, BBC! You did it again!

It must be so boring not being me. The minds of logic that so many cannot fathom the excitement inducing feeling that thrive on the days of self meditation as wonders lead to discoveries. What else can you get both the wit and clever to cover up such a show?

In my opinion, Sherlock is a flawless show any adult or teen can enjoy. With perfect casting, masterful storytelling, strong character development and even some humor, this brilliant series has it all. Typically there are 3 episodes per season, and each episode is 90 minutes long. If you haven't watched it yet, you have plenty of time to catch up before the 4th season premieres in 2017.

It is surprisingly refreshing and enjoyable, with a little comedy thrown in.

If you think there is no need for a new rendition of Sherlock Holmes, you will be pleasantly surprised by Sherlock. This show's contemporary look and feel will appeal to those unfamiliar with the anthology, while hitting all the necessary beats to satisfy anyone who is deeply steeped in the canon.

Such focus. Cumberbatch does a brilliant portrayal of Sherlock. He doesn't eat while working on a case. That is obvious in this DVD.

An updating of the classics that remains true to the spirit of the original novels. I like that John Watson is not a 'dumb' in this series as he has been portrayed in other TV series. Yes, he's not as smart as Sherlock (few are. as Sherlock is at some pains to point out), but he isn't just a hero-worshipping dogsbody. And I'm slightly bemused that, like the original, Watson is a veteran of Afghanistan, plus ca change...
