"Six-time Emmy Award-winning funnyman Tim Conway, best known for his characters on The Carol Burnett Show, offers a straight-shooting and hilarious memoir about his life on stage and off as an actor and comedian. Few entertainers have captured as many hearts and made as many people laugh as Tim Conway. An inspiring rags-to-riches story. Tim's journey from life as an only child raised by loving but outrageous parents in small-town Ohio during the Great Depression, to his tour of duty in the Army--which would become training for his later role in McHale's Navy--to his ascent as a national star. This book reveals the origins of many of Tim's unforgettable characters--from Mr. Tudball and the Oldest Man to Mickey Hart to everyone’s favorite, Dorf. Hilarious accounts of the glory days of The Carol Burnett Show and his famous partnerships with Harvey Korman, Don Knotts, Dick Van Dyke, Betty White, Vicki Lawrence, Bob Newhart, and of course, Carol Burnett"--Provided by publisher.

Easy and fun read.
The most engaging parts are his childhood memories of growing up with loving parents in an idyllic town.
Don't expect any gossip typical of other Hollywood memoirs. Tim has had a great life and is gracious to his co-stars and friends.
Essential reading? Probably not, but if you are a fan of his work you will be amused.

I've always LOVED Tim. This book shows what a great guy is is.

I have enjoyed reading about Tim Conway. It is clear that his early life provided much fodder for the characters he has played. And when I think about the shows and skits I've seen him in, it is clear that his humour is NOT at the expense of anyone else. That's the kind of humour I like. He has a lot of good and interesting things to say about some of the people he has worked with throughout his career. The photos provided are fun to look at, too. It's a relatively fast read, and I recommend this book.
