I love Lackey's Elemental Masters, Fairy tale and Valdemar books, but not the war-based collaborations. Didn't bother finishing this one and won't be reading any of the ones with these coauthors.

I did not find Lackey having a strong presence in this book. She is one of my favorite writers and I quit reading in the middle and went on to another book
