"Snow White is on the run from an evil witch when she comes across some dwarfs in the forest. They agree to take her in and keep her safe if she will help them with their chores. She soon realizes she's taking on a lot more than she bargained for. 77 breakfasts to make, 77 lunches to pack (don't forget the juice boxes!), 77 pairs of pants to mend and a whole lot of dishes. Eventually Snow White decides to take her chances with the witch. There''s a surprise ending...well, it may not be so surprising. This is a hilarious retelling of the classic tale, with bright, energetic illustrations featuring busy dwarfs, and the even busier Snow White."--Provided by the publisher.

Fractured fairy tale. Good for Snow White! Take that, dwarfs! ;)

This made me laugh out loud multiple times while reading it--I won't spoil the ending, but will just say that the entire book is one that parents will enjoy just as much as (or, more likely, more than) their kids. Some of the humor of the book is lost on a younger audience, but adults will find lots to make them laugh, and the artwork is enough to keep kids' interest while parents are laughing at the--sincerely hilarious--conclusion.

This is a bizarre take on Snow White that older picture book lovers will enjoy. This story imagines Snow White having to take care of 77 dwarves to predictably frustrating and hilarious results. Snow White has some killer facial expressions and ending is particularly silly. Highly recommended!

Taking care of 7 men is hard enough, but 77...impossible. Snow White and the 77 Dwarves begins just like the versions we all know, with a young woman running for her life and being taken in by some kindly men. In this case though, she is greeted by a sea of colours, and 77 names. These terrible little hosts pile their time-consuming chores on Snow, and like young boys they refuse to help and show no appreciation. Snow does her best, but she becomes more haggard each day, and she's had enough. She'll take her chances with the witch. Many a mother will sympathize with Snow's plight and get a laugh out of the twist at the end. Snow becoming an indentured servant aside, the story and style are quite amusing. Every page is a rainbow of colours, sometimes featuring certain hues to set the mood. Whenever possible the artist does in fact draw 77 dwarves, a feat to be applauded, and there is enough variation among them to make it worth looking at the whole spread. A stand-out title even among fractured fairy tales.
