Baker & Taylor
A Buddhist teacher brings the message and tenets of the religion to a larger audience through a collection of simple stories and anecdotes that seek to imply rather than tell the reader the Buddha's wisdom. Reprint.

Using delightful and deceptively powerful stories from everyday experiences, beloved Buddhist teacher Sylvia Boorstein demystifies spirituality, charts the path to happiness through the Buddha's basic teachings, shows how to eliminate hindrances to clear seeing, and develops a realistic course toward wisdom and compassion. A wonderfully engaging guide, full of humor, memorable insights, and love.

This is a warm, wonderful book that opens both heart and mind to Buddhist teaching -- a bestseller when it first came out for good reason. It saved my life (well, almost) more than once, and I've given away at least half dozen copies. Boorstein (I think of her as Auntie Sylvia) offers a charming, nontechnical introduction to Buddhist philosophy and practice through stories of her personal experience. You can't read it and not be touched.
