In this book, Dorothy returns to the fairyland of Oz by way of the Land of Ev. Princess Ozma and her friends from the Wizard of Oz book help rescue the Queen of Ev and her ten children from being slaves for the Nome King of the world underground. We liked it when Dorothy met the new character who is a yellow hen. When Dorothy met her she said her name was Bill. But Dorothy said, "That's a boy's name! I'm going to call you Bilina!" There's also a funny new character called the Hungry Tiger and a copper robot called Tik-Tok. You should read this book because it is a funny and exciting adventure.

The Land of Ev is in crisis: the king is dead and the queen and royal children have been sold off to the mysterious Nome King. The only "ruler" is the lethargic Princess Langwidere who cares nothing for government but spends all day admiring her collection of beautiful heads, which she can change at will.

Fortunately for Ev, their neighbor, Princess Of Ozma of Oz is determined to set things right. Ozma is everything Langwidere is not: kind, responsible, hard-working and driven by a sense of noblesse oblige. With the help of her new friend Dorothy and a quickwitted, no nonsense chicken named Billina, Ozma conquers the crafty None King and rescues the royal family. Full of humor, magic, and quirky characters, headed by a princess who exemplifies moral leadership.
