This is the third Gregor Reinhardt novel and it's a corker! It's a year after the end of WWII and Reinhardt is back in Kripo, investigating murders. The plot is intricate and involved. But the real star of this story is Berlin itself. McKinty truly makes the ruined city and its varied denizens come alive. I could smell the concrete dust, feel the tenuousness of the bombed out buildings. Well worth the read!
