In this update of the 2004 text, Truscott (educational psychology, U. of Alberta) and Crook (a late Vancouver-based trial lawyer) add a chapter on an agreement that specifies core competencies in ethics, revisions relating to professional standards, and additional case studies. Presenting a model of ethical reasoning, ethical/legal issues they consider in the context of the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists include complaints against psychologists, duties related to consent to treatment, confidentiality, maintaining professional boundaries, and providing cross-cultural services.
