Baja California is a dry, inhospitable peninsula surrounded by some of the most productive waters on Earth: the Pacific Ocean on the west, and the Sea of Cortez on the east. Focusses on the whale population comprising gray (who breed only at Baja), blue, humpback, sperm; the teeming bird life (frigate, pelican); and the nearly 600 species of fish found in the Sea of Cortez. Whale watching has become a thriving ecotourist industry.
