For Ellie Haskel fans, I would urge you to give this book a chance - but don't expect it to be a quick read. If you're suffering through a long, hot summer, pick up this book and be whisked off to a quaint sea-side cottage in Maine with Sarah Draycott. Join her in walks on the beach and meet the neighbors. A little romance, a little mystery and suspence and lovable characters. This will be a book that I will want to pick up and read again. NHunter

2.0 out of 5 stars "I usually LOVE Dorothy Cannell" February 25, 2013
She is and always has been one of my very favorite authors. I have read all of her books - over and over- laughing again and again at her 'way with words'. She is a marvel. This book was something else. The typos came fast and furious...I almost started keeping track because that would have been more interesting than the plot in this one. Everything happened so 'pat' --so quickly, so ....uninteresting and unimaginative. I was amazed and not in a good way. I always wait, with bated breath, for every new work by Ms. Cannell and share with all my family and friends. This one, I think not. Can't figure it out. I couldn't find the 'Unique and Impressive Dorothy Wit' in this one. Very very disappointed. Susan Butler

I loved this book, in fact I read it twice; picked up areas I missed! I love the plot/story line and would recommend it to anyone who wants to curl up and be entertained. Rosemary

I've enjoyed most of Dorothy Cannell's books, and this is no exception. Nice to have the focus away from her usual series. Miriam Mühle
