Inspired by the idea that one of the greatest gifts one generation can give to another is the wisdom it has gained from experience, multi-award-winning photographer and filmmaker Andrew Zuckerman has recorded the thoughts and ideas of more than fifty of the world's most prominent writers, artists, designers, actors, politicians, musicians, and religious and business leaders--all over sixty-five years old, from Nelson Mandela to Vanessa Redgrave. To create profound, honest, and truly revealing portraits of these luminaries, Zuckerman has captured their voices, their physical presence, and their written words.

This edition includes three new interviews from Yoko Ono, Jeanne Moreau, and Helmut Jahn. A unique passcode is also included, which will give readers access to online content, including a documentary film and exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage.

Book News
This is quite a big book (12.5x12.5"), affording generous-sized presentation of the photographic portraits of roughly 50 prominent people--famous for their work in the realms of the arts, media, politics, science, religion, and business--all of whom are over 65 years old. Each is shown in a couple of full-page close-up photos along with text on facing pages in which they articulate thoughts and feelings about life, work, and the world. Among the featured elders: Madeline Albright, Buzz Aldrin, Billie Jean King, Henry Kissinger, Willie Nelson, Yoko Ono, Ravi Shankar, and Andrew Wyeth, among many others. Photographer Zuckerman and writer/producer Vlack work frequently as a team to create books, films, and online content. Purchasers of this volume receive a code that gives access to a film version of the contents. Annotation ©2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Very interesting although the essays were variabe: not all of them were as in depth or interesting as you might think. Great photography, though and well worth the weight of it!
