The stories weren't bad; but a lot of damn and hell was used that did nothing to enhance the stories.

In Caroline's Child, Macomber introduces Dr. Jane, but doesn't really incorporate her in the story. Dr. Texas continues a couple of characters from Caroline's Child and develops the story of Dr. Jane. Rather awkward reading. I think it would have been better to make these two books into one story.
