From a debut author-illustrator! What if a little owl fell from his nest? A reassuring story for the very young told with whimsy and simple, vibrant artwork. (Ages 2 and up)

Uh-oh! Little Owl has fallen from his nest and landed with a whump on the ground. Now he is lost, and his mommy is nowhere to be seen! With the earnest help of his new friend Squirrel, Little Owl goes in search of animals that fit his description of Mommy Owl. But while some are big (like a bear) or have pointy ears (like a bunny) or prominent eyes (like a frog), none of them have all the features that make up his mommy. Where could she be? A cast of adorable forest critters in neon-bright hues will engage little readers right up to the story’s comforting, gently wry conclusion.

Baker & Taylor
Falling out of his nest and bumping his head, Little Owl is unable to find his mother and receives help from a kind squirrel who introduces him to animals that possess some of Little Owl's mother's features, a search that happily ends when mother and owlet are reunited.

My kids listened to story many times. Then they imitate the little owl to answer the questions of the rabbit with gestures lovely. Great book.

Little owl falls out of the nest and a helpful squirrel tries to find his mother, with amusing results. This is a great story to read -- or to tell with puppets and stuffed animals. Great storytime book.

Definitely trying out in Storytime. Love the graphic art and the twist on the "are you my mother" theme.

A short and simple story providing lots of preschool humour as Squirrel continually mismatches Little Owl with the wrong animal mothers.

I agree that this is an incredibly beautiful book. I could cover my walls in the gorgeous illustrations! My 2.5 year old also wants to read it again and again, but unfortunately the simplistic statements of this drive momma nutso to read again and again. This is a variation on the classic PD Eastman's "Are You My Mother?" only with even less language variation.
